Discount codes

Making one

Code : What the customer types. Case does not matter to them, so keep it short and unambiguous — EARLYBIRD, not Early-Bird_2026.

Type and Discount : Percent or Fixed amount, and the number.

Take the discount off : The whole order, or Only the chosen ticket types. The second is how you run "10% off balcony seats" without discounting the stalls.

Minimum order : Below it the code is refused.

Starts and Ends : The window it is valid in.

Total uses and Uses per customer : A cap overall, and a cap each. "First fifty people" is Total uses 50; "one per customer" stops one person emptying it.

Applies to : Events, event categories, or ticket types. Scope it to a category and every new event in that category inherits it.

Enabled : Off without deleting.

Statuses

The list works out the state for you:

Active · Scheduled (its start date has not arrived) · Expired · Used up (the cap is reached) · Disabled

Usage history

Usage history on a row shows every order that used the code and what it took off. That is the honest answer to "did the campaign work", and it is also how you spot one email address using a code nine times.

What the customer sees

A Discount code field on the payment step. A valid code recalculates the summary in front of them; an invalid one says so without clearing the basket.
